Thug Life in the “Murda Cap”...

In the late 90’s  HBO’s America Undercover did a documentary about the former “Murder Capital”. They went past the Monument and the White House to tell the story of a young man (Aundrey Burno) facing 115 years in prison for murdering another teen and also attempting to murder a police officer.  They also took a look at the harsh realities of growing up in Washington, DC.  The film was directed and produced by Marc Levin who also directed the movie SLAM.

In the latest video for his song Breakfast Curren$y leaves the hard winter at home and catches the early bird in sunny Jamaica. Director Jonah Shwartz of Creative Control highlights Spitta’s morning procedure of herbal treatment over this laid-back Mos Def-produced cut. We definitely enjoy these sun-drenched images backed by smooth horns. Check it out.

Her Name is Tanya Romero...

I had a terrible time trying to embed the video of Ms. Tanya Romero through NYMag’s embed code so just click on the pic below to watch the vid. I apologize for the super tough work of having to click your mouse one extra time  just for a post about a cute girl. (lol j/p)

Taken straight from A Continuous Lean’s twitter and NYMag.com. I thought this girl was cute with an incredible sense of style. Someone direct her in my direction por favor.

Gear: UNDFTD x Converse Poor Man’s...

In their 3rd installment and one year ago from yesterday, the UNDFTD x Converse Poor Man’s Weapon will be releasing yet another colorway in a navy blue on January 29, 2010. The first two colorways, a black version that dropped on January 24, 2009 and an olive colorway that dropped in May 2009 were both partnered with a matching helmet bag. This release includes the traditional matching helmet bag, as well as a MA-1 Flight Jacket (featured below). These are easily one of my favorite shoes to drop in 2009 and were rated as one of the best shoes of the previous year in a number of publications. Eddie Cruz even speculated on a fourth-coming release in a deep burgundy colorway (or battleship grey). I REALLY hope those hit the production table. Let’s root for converse in pursuing future colorways!

Rod or Eddie, feel free to throw a pair my way! lol

Comedy: Aziz Ansari bka RAAANNNDDDYYYY...

My Southern-Indian brother (or annan as I think translates to brother in his native Tamil language), Aziz Ansari, is creating quite the noise in the entertainment industry. He recently dropped a CD/DVD Comedy Central special called Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening on January 19 which he actually filmed at the end of Kanye West’s Glow in the Dark Tour. Kanye is subject of the joke for a couple skits on his comedy set as well. Below is a hilarious clip of his craigslist skit from the DVD as well as the cover art. RANNNNDDDYYYYYYYYYYY!
